The Opinel Folding Knife was born in the Savoie Region of France in 1890 and has become a universal object due to its wide use and popularity throughout the world.

No. 5: The No5 is the largest model that does not feature the Virobloc safety ring.

No. 6: Opinel No6 is the smallest model that features the Virobloc safety ring. This little knife is non threatening and very durable.

No. 7: The "in-between" size of the No7 classifies this knife as neither small or big.

No. 8: This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its 3 1/4" blade prevents it from being considered a weapon in most states (please check with your state).

No. 9: The No9 is the first of the Opinel's "large" knives. Please review its size before considering it.

No. 10: The No10 is a big folding knife that should not be considered a "pocket" knife. Of course this knife has many other uses but please consider its size if you are in the market for a "pocket" knife.

No. 12: The Opinel No12 is incredibly durable and weighs less then 4 oz. The wood handle does not transfer heat or cold to the hand. Note that at 11 inches in length this is a big knife; please review it's size before considering owning it.
