I've had the chance to take this on a backpacking trip and I am impressed. The tent is extremely light, which is great when doing long hikes! The only thing I swapped out was the tent stakes which were on the heavy side and I replaced them with some MSR carbon fiber ones.
Overall, the setup was super simple. I first set things up in my house because the outside canopy was not attached to the inner tent enclosure, and you can leave the two connected for a faster setup. So once I was able to connect all the hooks at my house, I packed up ready for the hike. I did manage to find some small velcro straps on tarptent dot com that I use on my trekking poles as I don't like using the sharp side up (I heard it can tear the tent fabric if the pole falls out of the grommet in strong winds). This allows me to use the handle part of my trekking pole up top, and the velcro straps hold them in place so they don't become dislodged in even the strongest winds. I also did purchase the separate tent footprint over on the Durston site to protect the bottom of the tent as I stayed on a very hard surface.

Only used once, but had no problems! Upgraded to this from a cheap tent from Amazon and cut my weight in half, opened up tons of space inside my bag, and I already owned Costco trekking poles that worked perfectly with this tent. Very happy with my purchase!
The Fox Karambit Trainer is well made and designed. It feels much like of my 479 Karambit with the exception that it will not cut you. If you have the sharp Karabmit no doubt you have been cut and with practice will be cut again.
Get proficient with the trainer and save your skin. Totally essential for practicing with your partners. Perfect practice makes perfect.
