Durston Gear Kakwa Warranty Information

What’s Covered

All Durston Gear products are trail tested, refined, and perfected over time, but please be mindful that every product has a useful lifecycle. The lifecycle of your Kakwa backpack will depend on maintenance, amount, and type of use over time, and storage conditions. The Kakwa 40 is guaranteed to be free of material and manufacturing defects and covered for a full year from date of shipment for the original purchaser only. If your pack fails due to a manufacturing or material defect, you may request service under this warranty.

Repairs and replacement parts

As with any ultralight gear, some wear and tear can occur during regular use. If you run into trouble with your Kakwa 40, send us a message right away: support@kaviso.com. We are pleased to offer repairs, and discounted replacement pieces to get you back on the trail. Minor scuffs, holes, and punctures can usually be fixed with Gear Aid repair kits, available here or spare buckles, cord-locks, or tensioners available here.

If you experience an issue with your Kakwa 40 on the trail, send us a message right away, and we’ll expedite your request. In many cases we can ship your replacement or repair kits within 24 hours, although actual turnaround times will vary based on your location and availability. We will do our best to get your pack back to 100% as soon as possible.

1 year warranty

The Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, packs that have been modified, neglected, or damaged from accidents or extreme conditions, material failure due to exceeding the durability of the fabric, or other signs of use that are reasonably expected with ultralight equipment. This is the only Warranty for the Kakwa 40, either expressed or implied, and user agrees to hold harmless Kaviso, LLC and Durston Gear, LLC and all affiliates, in the event of any loss resulting from the use or misuse of it’s products. Warranty does not apply to second hand purchases or purchases from unauthorized retailers. Warranty procedure and processing fees are subject to change.

Domestic Warranty Claims

  • Customers are responsible for the cost of returning their backpack to Kaviso for repair or replacement.
  • Inbound and Outbound warranty processing for domestic orders is $25.
  • International Warranty Claims

  • International customers are responsible for the cost of shipping for repair or replacement.
  • In select countries such as Canada, Kaviso may be able to provide pre-paid return labels at a cost.
  • Customers are responsible for reclaiming duties and taxes from their country in the event of a refund.
  • In the event of a replacement, customers will be responsible for the cost of shipping.
  • Warranty processing for international orders is $50.
