The Perfect Carry
Behold the Urban Trapper’s Dark SideHailed for its slim profile, ease of carry, and utility, Brad Zinker’s Urban Trapper is one of the most popular knives in the EDC community. While it’s been recreated with many materials, never before has it been crafted with linen micarta scales like the ones found on this version: a combination of black and red with a demonic look. Weighing just 2 ounces, the knife is hardly noticeable in the pocket. Combine that with its slim profile and you’ll barely even notice it’s there—until you need it. Then, when it’s time to open the knife, you’ll need no more than a firm press on the flipper tab. Thanks to its clip-point shape, the VG-10 blade can maneuver in tight spaces with ease. Rounding out the folder is the right-handed tip-up pocket clip.

Perfect EDC. Smooth action, light

Perfect EDC. Smooth action, light not bulky. Sharp and holds an edge. Blade is slender for cutting in tight spots. Love this knife.

This is my second urban

This is my second urban trapper. My other is a titanium / S35VN version. The tradeoffs mostly favor this one. It's a couple of millimeters thicker, and that makes it more comfortable in the hand. It's about half an ounce heavier, but 1.6 vs 2.0 ounces isn't a problem. With that weight, you get steel liners, and those are going to be better long-term than titanium. Titanium is too soft to be a good liner lock material - it wears down. Most titanium frame lock knives have a steel insert to avoid this, and the urban trapper in titanium does not. This version with steel liners avoids the whole issue.

I love the look, and VG-10 is a fine steel. Oh, and the pocket clip on this version is thicker than on my titanium one. That doesn't interfere with the grip. Maybe it works better on thick pants? I don't know. The red handle scales look better in person than they do in pictures. It's a great office carry.
